Here are some Simple, Easy Easter Recipes you may want to add to your menu:

In My Kitchen - August 2015

It's time for another round of the very cool monthly happening called "In My Kitchen" run by Celia at Fig Jam and Lime Cordial. I can't believe it's already been over a year since joining in the fun!

So here we go....

This Month in my Kitchen...

July was hot, humid and just disgusting. While, there were beautiful blue sunny skies the humidity was in a word, uncomfortable. August seems to be going the same way, but hopefully by my birthday it will ease up.

John and I, had some brother-sister bonding time when we went Peach and Sour Cherry picking at our local farm. :)

Decadent Drambuie Cherries, Recipe coming soon!

The Garden is growing and we have been reaping the rewards daily! Eggplants, Hot Peppers, String Beans, Summer Squash, Okra, Tomatoes, and Zucchinis.

I was lucky enough to be able to trade some of my heirloom tomatoes for these beautiful organic free range chicken eggs. They were delicious!

Instead of wasting Rainbow Chard Stems I Pickled them and they turned out tasty and pretty. Recipe here.

Kishore was introduced to Ecuadorian Shrimp Ceviche for the first time this month and it was a hit, something tells me we are going to be seeing this often! :)

Some new kitchen toys...
I got these beautiful antique made in Japan copper chafing dishes at a garage sale, they'll come in handy for our gatherings. Some colorful terra-cotta handprinted Spanish Tapas bowls. A Old/New Cookbook. Some silicon pot lids, and an enameled serving spoon. And I couldn't pass up these cute little wine marker monsters.

Garden Fresh Eggplant Rollatini with Rainbow Chard, Recipe here.

    1. Hi Shaheen, It's been a crazy busy month here too, try to take some time for you and don't work too hard! My brother just got back from London, and I told him you liked his shirt and he was thrilled, he made it himself haha! :)

  3. Your garden produce looks stunningly colorful and tempting - what a contrast to the tired, shipped by barge from the lower 48, slightly less fresh produce we find during the summer cruise in Alaska. Pickled chard stems? genius idea!

    1. Thanks Sherry, we've had quite a few rabbits this year, and quite a few headless plant shoots as a result, luckily the possums haven't been too much of a problem. Pickled Chard stems are delicious, posting the how-to soon, thanks for stopping by! :)
